Prescott is somewhere worth visiting. I feel so lucky to travel around the US wearing my Red Ace kit, seeing sights and sounds that most people will never experience. The Whiskey 50, in Prescott, is something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. I have another post to write about the town and […]

I finished 38th at the US Cup in Bonelli this weekend. A crazy number. The kind of finishing position you normally whisper under your breathe in case someone overhears you. Today was a little different, and I’m struggling to wrap my head around the result.

Mellow Johnny’s classic. The first US Cup of 2014; It’s hard to be ready to race when winter is still gripping Colorado. Seeing friends and being out in the warm sunshine is motivating though – a great season opener.
I can’t believe that these posts get earlier each year, but yesterday I pinned on my first number of the 2014 race season. Unlike years previous, where I’d been in snow chasing mode, I decided to pursue some bigger races around the country this year. The US Cup seems to have been resurrected with a […]
I had a bit of bad luck racing cyclocross in November, and it was the wake up call I needed to get back into cross after collegiate nationals. I raced down in Broomfield at Interlocken, and got a little over zealous in a corner, ending up sliding along the grass with my foot still clipped […]

I’ve raced the Steamboat Stinger since its inception in 2011; since the first year I was racing Mountain Bikes in Colorado. It wasn’t intentional, but it’s become the only race to stand the test of time. It’s become a yardstick for where I am in the year, where I am in the world, where I […]
You’re racing. You’re half way in, the fatigue is building and the burn in your lungs is weighing on your mind. It’s ok though, the Aid station is just around the corner. You roll in at top speed, looking for your bag or bottle being held up, and grab it smoothly, transitioning food into your […]

Race time. It’s a familiar feeling; one that my body has been craving for too long. I have neglected the competitive addiction, one that must be sated for everything to seem right in the world. The internal feelings are unmistakable; restless legs, concern for every unit of energy spent, and food constantly consumed. The external […]
